histoire(s) premiered in 2004 at KunstenFestivaldesArts, in Brussels, as a tribute to Roland Petit’s ballet Le jeune homme et la mort. In order to create the piece, Olga de Soto turned to the memory of spectators who watched the 1946 original staging at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, in Paris. With the forgotten emotions that emerged during the interviews, she defined the essential elements of the performance.
Olga de Soto is a dancer and researcher. She lives and works between Brussels and Madrid. She made her debut as a choreographer with Patios, in 1992, at Festival Bellone-Brigittines, in Brussels. Since then, she has been researching issues of perception and transmission and creating works by herself and in collaboration with other artists.
