Depois de cinco anos, a Cie. Maguy Marin está de volta ao Brasil. Considerado pela crítica mundial uma obraprima, Umwelt é inspirado em textos do irlandês Samuel Beckett e aborda a falta de significado e expressão na existência humana. No palco, em meio a duas fileiras de espelhos em posições alternadas, os intérpretes aparecem e desaparecem representando atos corriqueiros como lavar o chão ou embalar um bebê. O público acompanha as ações típicas do dia-a-dia de qualquer pessoa numa seqüência entrecortada pelos espelhos, que tomam conta da extensão do palco. Umwelt é um espetáculo visual impactante com cenário surpreendente.
After five years, Cie. Maguy Marin is coming back to Brazil. Regarded by critics worldwide as a masterpieces, Umwelt was inspired by texts by Irish playwright Samuel Beckett and approaches the lack of meaning and expression in human existence. On stage, amidst two rows of mirrors in alternate positions, dancers appear and disappear, representing trivial acts of everyday life, such as cleaning the floor or rocking a baby. The audience watches actions that are typical in anyone’s daily life and that take over the whole extension of the stage. Umwelt is a striking visual show in a surprising setting.
Uma das companhias de dança contemporânea mais respeitadas do mundo, a Maguy Marin nasceu em 1978 do desejo da então bailarina de realizar suas próprias investigações. Antes, Maguy havia estudado no Conservatório de Toulouse, no Strasbourg Ballet e na Mudra, de Bruxelas. Também passou pelo Chandra, grupo de pesquisa de Maurice Béjart, onde criou suas primeiras coreografias. Em 1998, a companhia se tornou residente no Centre Chorégraphique National de Rillieux-la-Pape.
One of the most respected contemporary dance companies in the world, Cie. Maguy Marin was created in 1978, by Maguy, out of her desire to carry out her own investigations. Before that, she had studied in the Toulouse Conservatory, in the Strasbourg Ballet and in Mudra, in Brussels. She also passed by Chandra, Maurice Bejárts theatrical research group, where she created her first choreographies. In 1998, the company became resident at Centre Chorégraphique National in Rillieux-la-Pape.
