A companhia Forsythe é apoiada pela cidade de Dresden e pelo Estado da Saxônia, bem como a cidade de Frankfurt am Main e do estado de Hesse. William Forsythe is recognized as one of the world’s foremost creators in contemporary dance. Forsythe’s deep interest in different artistic areas has led him to produce a wide range of projects including Installations, visual art, architecture and multimedia projects, contributing to the innovation of contemporary art in an international scale. The Forsythe Company is supported by the city of Dresden and the state of Saxony as well as the city of Frankfurt am Main and the state of Hesse. The Forsythe Company is Company-in-Residence of both the Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden and the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt am Main. Focado no complexo One flat thing, reproduced, o projeto de web interativa Synchronous objects for one flat thing apresenta uma original coleção de imagens (vídeo, arte digital, animação e gráficos interativos) que revela um intrincado sistema de organização na coreografia. O projeto é resultado de uma colaboração entre a Companhia Forsythe e pesquisadores da Ohio State University, incluindo concepção, dança, informática, geografia, estatísticas e arquitetura, que trabalham juntos no Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD). Os diretores de criação William Forsythe, Maria Palazzi (ACCAD/Departamento de Design) e Norah Zuniga Shaw (ACCAD/Departamento de Dança) descrevem a pesquisa como um processo em que as ideias coreográficas são a fonte de informações para a composição de objetos visuais.
Focusing on Forsythe’s complex ensemble dance One flat thing, reproduced, the interactive web project Synchronous objects for one flat thing presents an original collection of visualizations (video, digital artwork, animation, and interactive graphics) that reveal interlocking systems of organization in the choreography. The project is the result of a collaboration between The Forsythe Company and researchers at The Ohio State University from design, dance, computer science, geography, statistics and architecture who work together at OSU’s Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD). Creative Directors William Forsythe, Maria Palazzi (ACCAD/Department of Design), and Norah Zuniga Shaw (ACCAD/Department of Dance) describe the research as a process in which choreographic ideas are the source of information for the composition of unique visual objects.
