18 Sep “Retrospective”, by Xavier Le Roy arrives at MoMA PS1
One of the attractions of 22nd Panorama Festival’s edition, “Retrospective”, by Xavier Le Roy, arrives at MoMA PS1, in New York. During all Panorama 2013, from October 25 to November 10, the choreographic exhibition occupied the first floor of Museu de Arte do Rio – MAR.
In “Retrospective” the performers carry out actions that create different experiences about how we use, consume or produce time. Three compositions are simultaneously set in motion: the duration of each visitor in the piece; the duration of each of the performers’ daily work; and the development of the actions throughout the total duration of the exhibition.
The piece is based on the solos created by Xavier Le Roy between 1994 and 2010 and was created for the first time for Fundació Antoni Tàpies, in Barcelona. The Brazilian version was co-produced with the Interação and Conectividade festival, in Salvador, organized by Grupo Dimenti.
